This year we’re introducing wrist bands for all ticket holders coming to the Fairy Fair. With the Fair selling out more and more often it seemed a good idea to have wristbands, and it should help if people have to nip in and out of the Fair at any time. It may give you a memento to take away too !
We hope you like the design, which features the ‘Bridie Bird’ or Oystercatcher. This black and white bird with a long orange beak can sometimes see them on fields around Norfolk at this time of year, and year round along the coast. They have a piping call and their own magical folklore, being Bride’s or Bridie’s bird in the legend of the Cailleach – a symbol of the coming spring after winter.
Important:
Please wear your wrist-bands visibly at all times. Under 3’s don’t have to pay to get into the Fair but everyone else who has bought a ticket will be issued with a wrist-band. These are the security type of fabric wristbands used at many festivals and cannot be removed without cutting them. Please do not do this until you have left the Fair as anyone with a cut wristband will not be admitted to the Fair.
As usual, our crew will be wearing our distinctive purple rosettes so you know who to ask for information or if you have any problems (see more under INFO).
