(please note the event is now SOLD OUT for Saturday)

It’s Halloween – so of course we have storytelling. And not only our own Story of the Real Halloween (see After Dark) but stories throughout the afternoon from our wonderful tellers, Callum McGowan and Mike Dodsworth. Who may be found in the comfortable Story Telling Hut at the edge of the woods.

Plus, back by popular demand, you can catch either of two performances of the Pirate Pantomime, all the way from the West Country and a favourite with old and young alike.

Music is on hand throughout the day from the wandering duo Penny Less, and from the Moonshiners band who will be in the Performance Tent.  When time allows Penny Less will also be hosting Musical Toadstalls.

Should you spot a shaggy brown mane firkling behind a tree, it’s probably not a Highland Cow but a Troll.  Migration allowing, Cricket Bat Trolls will be browsing in the woods and foraging in leafy corners. If you talk to them nicely they may be happy to pass on composting and other handy tips.  Try not to surprise them for they are quite shy and sensitive creatures.

Why not spend some time around the fire on the Main Lawn? Food stalls and the good Elf Pub are conveniently to hand.  There you should be able to find the Popcorn Wizards.  They spend an exacting three years training in the famed Fuorcla Trupchun Culinary Wizard School in the Alps of Ticino, to perfect their use of toasting utensils, and are always happy to share their expertise.

If you are lost or at a loss as what to do next for entertainment, search out our Bat Girls. Who when not walking about are are often hanging around the Main Lawn. Sometimes upside down, and full of useful squeaks and other suggestions.

Fancy Dress. Always welcome in the Real Halloween competition or just freestyle and adds to the entertainment of all.
