Wizard Shields

The hare, the stoat, barn owl and badger all possess extraordinary abilities which down the ages have led people to regard them as ‘spirit animals’.

Magic Animal Shields explores the ‘super powers’, that is the extreme senses or capabilities of real native British wild animals.   The workshop involves harnessing  these ‘powers’ to make a decorated shield.

Hear the story of Raven a young wizard and how he enlisted the help of the animals in the forest and a shield maker to make a powerful shield to defeat a dark wizard. Discover your own spirit animal from the forest and decorate your own shield with its track print and totems from other wild animals.

Spaces for this 45 minute workshop can be booked in advance. Please note no under 3 s will be allowed in the tent whilst the workshop is going on and one adult must be present, so you may need to think about who will be accompanying your child(ren).
