Secret Dens and Fairy Gardens at South Norfolk Festival of the Arts "Pleasure Gardens" at Rainthorpe Hall, Tasburgh, Norwich.
A family day including garden theater, Darwin and the Dodo - celebrating Darwin's bicentenary, den building, fairyland activities, making and sailing miniature boats and an extrordinary walking Venus Flytrap. Book now for workshops and activities, based at the Forestry Commission High Lodge site in the midst of the Thetford Forest in Norfolk.

For the first time we have paired up our most popular workshops so that children can spend all morning imagining they are either a Fairy or a Wizard and learning about the magic and nature of the forest. Or children can opt to spend just an hour with us making a Fairy House which will eventually form part of a Fairy Village.

All of the activities take place either within one of the Trust's beautiful medieval tents or outside in the woods. Children are encouraged to dress up if they like. Parents or carers need to be present. Café and toilets on site.

Sunday July 26th Fairy workshops (suits 3- 8yr olds) 11am - 1pm £8 / child

Imagine you are a Fairy in the Forest. Make your own Fairy Party Crown and set of Magic Wings to take home.

Sunday July 26th Fairy Houses (suits 3 - 8 yr olds) 2pm - 3pm or 3pm- 4pm £3/ child

Help us to build a Fairy Village within the forest by making a Fairy House out of sticks and leaves and other things you will collect from the Forest floor.

Sunday 2nd August Advanced Fairy workshops (suits 6-10 yr olds) 11am- 1pm

Make your own Fairy Book to help guide you through the woods and learn how to make a real Fairy Potion from plants you can find in the hedgerows.

Sunday 2nd August Fairy Houses (suits 3 - 8 yr olds) 2pm - 3pm or 3pm- 4pm £3/ child

Help us to build a Fairy Village within the forest by making a Fairy House out of sticks and leaves and other things you will collect from the Forest floor.

Sunday August 9th Wizard workshops (suits 3 - 10 yr olds) 11am- 1pm

Learn a wizard's knowledge of the powers of trees and animals of the forest. Make a Magic Wand and a Wizard Shield to take home.

Sunday 9th August Fairy Houses (suits 3 - 8 yr olds) 2pm - 3pm or 3pm- 4pm £3/ child

Help us to build a Fairy Village within the forest by making a Fairy House out of sticks and leaves and other things you will collect from the Forest floor.
