Music from Swervyworld, Wylde Noyse, Chris the Fiddler, encounters with the Electra-gliding Angels and several new workshops greeted visitors to the 2008 Fairy Fair held at Narborough hall in Norfolk, in late July. Pixie Post Office did a roaring trade including letters posted to Australia, the Trolls held an unsurpassed Cooking Session despite the blistering heat and the new workshops Witches Pets (making long-eared bats), Fairy Books, Fairy Banquets and a completely revamped Magic Potions (using native herbs only) all helped create a magical atmosphere over two days.
Those seeking the cool of the woods encountered Bronze Age Jo and Steve from 'Past Lives' in the henge, on the way to the Fairy Queen. Pirates Against Pollution showed how to wash your mermaids at 30°C and enlisted a scurvy crew. For scenes from the 2008 Fair visit our gallery at

Held on the hottest weekend of the year the Fair was voted a great success by visitors and was the result of a huge amount of effort by over one hundred volunteers and crew, and the hospitality of Jo Merrison and her family at Narborough Hall - thanks to you all.
