We ran a workshop on Islington Green - the London Borough with least open space. One parent appeared and told us that after her child had made a wand at a Fair in 2005 she was so taken with nature and asked so many questions that her mother had gone on a hedgerow conservation course to educate herself ! We had over seventy children and thirty adults and quite a few teenagers making wands, including some serious Goths, and, being Islington, a Tree Consultant.
